DevelopmentBrace yourself: Wishlist 3.0 is coming!

As we have recently announced on a blog post on our website, Wishlist version 3.0 is under development and will bring a huge number of enhancements.

We believe that we have achieved the first important milestone in the development of this plugin: after a briefly closed alpha test phase, we are happy to start the open beta phase.

The branch 3.0 has been officially added to the SVN repository of YITH WooCommerce Wishlist on wp.org and at the same time, we have opened a new Github account to manage any possible pull requests and issue reports.

So, everything is set up for the beta testing phase: only you missing, passionate developers, shop managers and WordPress lovers from all over the world!

We can’t wait for getting your opinion and suggestions to release the best version of Wishlist together.

Same old – but necessary – safety notes

Before concluding, we believe it is useful to remind that, despite the big efforts put in to make sure that version 3.0-beta works perfectly out of the box, it might always be possible to find some bugs and errors, potentially even critical ones, on update.

For this reason, we definitely discourage you from installing this version in a production environment.

The beta version is intended to evaluate new features and for testing purposes and should be installed only in development environments, and never on websites that process real payments.

We decline any responsibility that might derive from the misuse of this testing version that is released as is and for evaluation purposes.

Next steps

We have not set a deadline for closing the beta test phase yet, but we will keep you updated on this blog as soon as there is important news to share.

After that, we will go through a Release Candidate version for the final evaluation; if necessary, more RC versions will come in order to have a stable code, ready for the official release.

We aim at publishing the stable version 3.0 by the end of Q4 2019.
