YITH visiting California for WCUS 2022!

YITH was present and celebrated yet another amazing event: WordCamp US.

This time we travelled to San Diego, California and got to live first time experiences whilst sharing our passion for WordPress.

Team arriving to San Diego

First time ever visiting the states for our 3 representatives, yet the people we met back in WordCamp Europe did not allow us to feel lonely at all! Of course, we’re referring to our Newfold Digital colleagues from both Yoast and Bluehost teams who were also attending. Great moments and laughs were shared with the team while meeting many new members too!

The venue was unique, as its location was found at the Town and Country Resort in the city of San Diego. We were surrounded by a warm, friendly yet luxurious environment.

We prepared our booth as per tradition; our personalized San Diego swag- shirts, pens and stickers- would soon almost disappear. We were particularly thrilled to meet and engage with the US community as much as we did. Such a success!

We were also glad to attend WCUS Social, the official party of WordCamp US where we networked and talked all things WordPress. The organisation spoiled us with some delicious snacks too! Yum!

Final day was equally successful as we gave away our last pieces of merch and met some new fellow WordCampers, to whom we introduced ourselves and services. We also enjoyed a fantastic meal outside in the open space of the venue, as the weather cleared up from last day’s storm.

The event closed WordPress’ founder, Matt Mullenweg, with yet another motivating talk on WordPress’ future, while also demonstrating a presentation with the platform’s new upcoming version and features. He later responded to some questions, offering further insight to interesting matters, while also announcing next year’s WCUS secret location, on the East coast this time; at National Harbor, Maryland.

Talks

Next morning, we had breakfast at Contributor Day spending our final day with the Newfold family and other WordCamp enthusiasts, and contributing to this amazing community.

San Diego has treated us royally and we can’t be more thankful! We promise to come back soon! Till then, see you at the next WordCamp experience everyone!
